THE HISTORY

More Than a Restaurant — A New Orleans Legend

Divider

The Court of Two Sisters stands as one of New Orleans’ most recognized historic landmarks, shaped by generations of hospitality, music, and cuisine. Under the stewardship of the Fein family, it has become known for its live jazz brunch, refined Creole dining, and courtyard setting that reflects the enduring character of the French Quarter. Guests enter through the Charm Gates and gather in spaces that preserve the traditions of the city.

The Namesake

Emma & Bertha Camors

The name of the Court of Two Sisters derives from Emma and Bertha Camors, two Creole sisters who operated a notions shop at 613 Royal Street in the late nineteenth century. Their shop offered garments, lace, and imported goods to the women of New Orleans. In the years following Prohibition, the property transitioned into a restaurant, and in 1963 Joe Fein Jr. began its preservation and development as a landmark dining destination.

The Legend

A Storied French Quarter Address

The property at 613 Royal Street has roots in the early colonial period and later became home to a three story structure built in 1832 by Zenon Cavelier. Its courtyard, designed as a private retreat, remains one of the largest in the French Quarter. Today, the Court of Two Sisters continues to reflect the architectural and cultural history of New Orleans.
